Meeting point at Jurong

A total of 35 family members with 6 cars are to meet at jurong by 3:30am. By each and everyone's we can tell that either most is sleepy or excited! After testing our Walkie Talkie and reciting the prayer for safety, we left Jurong at 0415hrs. We had 5 cars at first, Nissan Sunny, Kia Caren, Toyota Wish, Toyota Picnic, and Subaru Forrester. Aunt Salmiah and family weren’t around as they left for KL a day earlier but we’ll meet them at Sunway Mall. Slight changes made in our sitting car arrangements before we moved off. Since this would be the first experience for Uncle Saadon to drive to KL, car movement’s arrangements have been made. First would be, Uncle Joe, Second, Uncle Saadon, Third, Uncle Haron, Fourth, Uncle Saim, and lastly Bro Ian. Our next stop would be Machap where we would have our prayers before proceeding to Sunway Lagoon! It’s going to be a long drive!

Stop pit at Machap

Apart from all the sleepy faces, we still smile and eagerly to move on with our destination. Before yet again another long hour of driving, we are advised to have early Breakfast. The foods there weren’t that irresistible but due to long hours of driving, we ate it without much complaining. There’s one special food here which in Singapore doesn’t sell. A fried bird. We had a ‘dare challenge’ moment among the cousins! Time showed 0645 when we proceed with our destination. Our next stop would be Ayer Keroh. To allow those who needs to answer their nature calls. Not forgetting, some stretching for single drivers.
Stop pit at Ayer Keroh At 0800hrs we arrived at our second stop, Ayer Keroh. Mostly took the opportunity to visit the toilet. Some just stayed in the car while others still asleep. Substitute drivers took over.

Stop pit for Satay

Using the technology given, we communicate from cars using a high tech walkie talkie and so during our journey Uncle Joe decided to have a stop over for a taste of the most delicious yet yummy satay. Another stop for those who do not really enjoy their breakfast at Machap but as we got there, the satay isn’t ready. Despite on the disappointment some were already busy buying tidbits and drinking hot coffee. Nevertheless we felt calm due to the peaceful scenery with mini waterfall and cats around. We continued our destination again at 0900hrs. Our next stop would be KL, with driving estimation of 1h 30mins. Arrival at KL Time checked 1030hrs. Everyone’s starting to feel the excitement. Be it the cousins and the adults. Since our first destination would be Sunway Lagoon, the atmosphere of fun for the cousins is rising. Smiley faces in the picture and big discussion on their shopping lists. KL hasn’t change a little bit of it. It’s scattered buildings and etc. It seems that we really made use of the walkie talkie, Aunt Sulaikah has been teasing non stop. Although the sound is kind of unclear but a creative way to communicate. After paying its toll, everyone started to move off to Sunway. As usual, the road there isn’t as good as Singapore and same goes to their drivers. I kind of surprise on how they can get their license when driving am totally unsafe.

Arrival at Sunway Lagoon

It’s beautiful to start the day when the sun’s shining over us and most of the aunts and cousins are wearing shades, looking very glamorous. Upon reaching, the adults were looking excited and real anticipating for their shopping moments at Sunway Mall. The cousins have to decide either to shop or to ride the heavenly and thrilling rides at the theme park. Much discussion have been made and the mostly chose the theme park while the adults go happily forking out their money to shop. Time guide line is at least 3 hours. During those hours, the cousins had been screaming out of their lungs till sore throat while the adults smile at their shopping bags feeling satisfied with it. Before leaving for our hotel, we had lunch at Long John Silver. To be honest, their service is bad.

Perdana Hotel

During our journey, Aunt Sulaikah have been teasing non stop, wanting the foods, goreng pisang, and Malaysia’s famous keropok lekor. Same goes to everyone. After an hour of searching for the location, we finally realized that we’re lost. So we stop at a nearby stall along the road. The owner of the stall was very shocked but happy to receive a big order. She was very friendly and same goes to her family as allowing us for a free toilet usage at her place, kampong. Uncle Joe called up the hotel manager asking for a proper direction. The hotel manager later volunteered herself to take us there. In the hotel, mostly are not satisfied with the outcome. Anyway we’re given a few hours to clean up and rest ourselves before the wedding. Everyone dressed up to the fullest. Be it, the adults, the cousins, the kids. They’re all set and ready for the biggest event. In order to save time and fuel, we book a cab. Brother Elfie, Saiful and I took the cab. It’s our first. For taxi wise, it’s in bad condition. The doors can’t be open from outside.

Wedding

It’s a 15mins journey from our hotel. It looked grand, a group of waiter from a Hotel hired, with fully decorated. After a warm welcome, we’re invited to sit. While waiting for the foods to be served, much conversation has been made between us and them. Indeed we’ve to wait long that the kids are getting restless. Finally the foods were ready but sadly it weren’t that satisfying. That wasn’t a big deal for us because our next destination would be the Road House Grill. Eat, drink and be yourself is their slogan.

Roadhouse Grill

Everyone is looking forward especially our Brother Ian and wife. We were first greeted by a friendly Indian man at the carpark. He helped to arrange the car to park appropriately. Inside, we’re being greeted again warmly by the staffs and manager. The manager seems to be shocked to see a big group. After ordering the foods, we’re given a bucket of peanuts as an appetizer. We’re allowed to throw the shells anywhere. Its fun and no wonder the slogan stated to be you! We ate so much that it’s already time for the restaurant to close. Before that, there was a blackout. As usual, Zakiah screams the loudest. Arrival of Uncle Shafiee’s apartment We left Perdana Hotel by 0830hrs in the morning. Our next stop would be at Uncle Shafiee’s apartment for breakfast. It’s a private property. With the help from the taxi driver’s direction, we reached in a short time. The taxi driver stated that the house worth 3million RM. Upon reaching, everyone seems pretty amazed. The house is spacious with big furniture. Everyone is having their excite moment, playing the soccer board, snapping candid pictures, etc. We had Nasi Lemak, Mee Goreng, Chicken Wings, and lots of ice cream for desert. Before leaving for our next destination, we had a big family shot outside the house. It sure is a good memory for everyone. Pertama Shopping Mall It’s a new shopping mall in town. It’s definitely bigger than Singapore’s Takashimaya Shopping Centre. It’s a shopping heaven moreover with their Malaysia Mega Sales going on. Big sales and discounts almost every shops. Time showed was 1100hrs and we’re given 3 hours. At the end of the 3 hours, almost everyone is holding a shopping bag. Big smiley faces on them feeling excited, especially Reza who bought a big toy from the toy department store. Malacca After a long drive way from KL, we reached Malacca almost by 1830hrs. During the journey, it rained heavily and that made the driver to maintain their speed from speeding. In Malacca, the surrounding is slightly different from KL. Malacca is much cleaner only that it’s all a Kampong state. Although, we’re already in Malacca, we still need a long drive to the restaurant. When we arrived, the smell of the seafood is already calling for us. Everyone is hungry. After being sited, a long wait for us to be served. During the waiting time, the cousins played some games, with lots of candid shot taken. The foods indeed are delicious. Nurul and Kak Lisza love Tom Yam Soup while other doesn’t quite fancy it. Nevertheless I’m sure each of everyone enjoyed their dinner. We had a great moment eating together as one big family. Driving Back Home We had two pit stops before reaching Singapore. There are Ayer Keroh and Machap. It’s to allow for those to pray, sleepy drivers to rest and have a cup of coffee, and for those who wants to buy some tidbits home. In Machap, Brother Azhar to make a move first as the kids are already fast asleep and not wanted them to be awakened. While the others separated later. Brother Ian to move off second with Uncle Joe. Uncle Saim, Uncle Haron and Uncle Saadon to move off later. The last team has a car polish at Johore. Upon separating later, Uncle Horan got stuck in a massive jam in towards Woodlands Checkpoint. To prevent the massive jam, Uncle Saim and Uncle Saadon took a different routine home, Tuas Checkpoint. CONCLUSION Even though it’s a very short trip, nevertheless, we had much fun and brought sweet memories back home. We simply love our Kalil Family and are looking forward to our next event. =))
